When sunlight falls on Solar Panels mounted on roof they generate electricity in form of DC current which gets converted to AC current in the Inverter. This electricity generated is first consumed in the premises and any excess is exported to national grid through a special meter (bidirectional meter) which reads electricity taken from the Grid and electricity exported to the Grid. Excess electricity which goes to Grid is named “Export” electricity and Electricity taken from the Grid is named “Import “electricity.
Net Metering
Net metering credits solar system owners for excess electricity sent to the grid. On-Grid systems track both export and import units, and the monthly bill accounts for the difference, with excess exports rolled over
Net Accounting
In case of Net Accounting Scheme monthly electricity bill is calculated for the difference and excess export units are bought by service provider (CEB/LECO) at an agreed rate per electricity unit.
Net Plus
The Net Plus scheme differs significantly from other grid connection methods. It compensates for solar electricity generation, independent of consumption, using separate meters. Customers pay for their usage while the Utility Provider pays for all generated electricity.
